Shpankey, good find, but doesn't seem to work for me. Do you use a default profile or did you create a new one? I created a new one which created my profile in My Documents folder. I tried copying VideoDefault.con file into there and changing the values, but still no luck.

I can't even begin to say how disappointed I am that common widescreen TV resolutions aren't supported.

I am running that same monitor on 6800 card. So far I had no luck getting it to work. I did, however, had BF1942 running at 1680x1050
PS: You might want to wait for a deal from dell. I got two of my monitors for $384 shipped.
Or I just saw this deal:
20% on Dell 2405FPW (24â€Â

That's $648 US, that's very high for that monitor. I'd wait for a sale. Dell has them all the time. They just ended one 2 days ago which dropped the price of it to $420. But...do whatever you like

shpankey wrote: This worked for me also. But you also have to change the FOV (field of view) to a proper widscreen FOV (so it looks correct). So go into your 'Battlefield 2 Demo\mods\bf2\Settings\' directory and edit the 'VideoDefault.con'. Look for the line that reads 'renderer.fieldOfView 1' and change it to 'renderer.fieldOfView 1.1' and your FOV will be correct (higher the number = wider FOV, so you could even cheat a bit and make it 1.2 but it wouldn't be accurate, but would let you see a little more to the sides. The adverse affect of this is you will have a farther zoomed back regular view.
I do not see the settings folder in the mods folder. I only have a cache folder. Is there something I need to change in game in order to get the settings folder?

you have to change it where you installed the game, not in the my documents bf2 demo folder..
thanks for the solution!

Sir_Baron,
Thanks for this fix. How did you figure that out?
I was up til 3am last night trying to get my custom rez to work with no luck. I've been waiting months for this game and was not going to buy it if I couldn't get my rez to work.
I thank you and EA Games should thank you

I have been playing with the FOV setting and I don't see ANY difference, changing from 0.8 to 1.4. The map window (top right) is still stretch and all the models look like little midgets running around. Are you sure you guys getting the FOV working right? Could someone please post a screenie?
