To get widescreen in the game ... Go to ...

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\Monolith Productions\FEAR

and edit the setting.cfg to the settings below. Adjust the HEIGHT and WIDTH to what you want

"GammaR" "1.000000"
"BitDepth" "32"
"HardwareCursor" "1.000000"
"ScreenWidth" "1440" ... or your desired widescreen resolution
"VSyncOnFlip" "0.000000"
"ScreenHeight" "900" ... or your desired widescreen resolution

IMPORTANT ...
If you go into the game and choose ... Options ... Display ... it will show up as 640x480 and then re-set it's self to this res. (So don't go into this option.)

If you go into the game and choose
... Options ... Performance ... Advanced Video Card Options ... Graphics ... it should show the correct res ... second from
bottom.

As you can see, you gain horizontal FOV with widescreen resolutions.
