I called and Dell did a Label for me. I dropped it at the courier myself rather than arrange a pickup since no one is home during the day. I hope they are quick with the credit.

Also you may want to check for blurred text which I think they all have as well. Mine did. Compare closely with a good screen.

Here is mine compared to my 2405:

I wouldn't touch a 2x07 from Dell with a 10ft poll.

Dell is committed to serving our customers.

We have received feedback from some customers regarding our 2007FP, 2007WFP and 2407WFP monitors regarding uneven color bands on some images. This effect is known as "banding.â€Â

Blast, if you read what is posted in the Dell forums, it does not sound like this is something the end consumer can do. While it's mostly just speculation right now, it's probably something that we require service, so it may have to be shipped back to Dell or at least a registered service center. If your friends are wanting to get theirs fixed, well it's probably best to have them submit their info as requested. Nice of Dell to post this info here though, makes me feel that at least they're aware of the situation, as well as more confident in their customer support :)

Unfortunately, the firmware update can't be applied through a download by the end user. If you have a unit experiencing this issue, I would urge you to either contact me at Customer_Advocate@dell.com or to visit this thread on the Dell Community Forum.

Any idea if this fix also correct text blur? This was clearly evident to many sharp eyed users of the 2007fp/2007wfp/2407wfp, but it is less obvious to most folks than the banding.

And whats the difference and why is small business cheaper.

can I be a small bbusiness or do I have to be VAT registred or somat?

And BIG QUESTION is the banding fix on place in these monitors or will they have to be RMA's for the firmware upgrade.

It's now been 9 weeks since I gave Dell my money. They finally picked up the screen last week after a multitude of emails. I await patiently my refund...

Just got my replacement 2007WFP in the mail. Very little notice that it was being sent except for a FedEx doortag telling me I had something to pick up. Now that I have the 2 LCDs sitting here, I can say that the banding problem does seem to be fixed in Desktop mode with the new firmware update. It's a nice smooth transition between colors for all the tests I've tried. Funny thing, the banding still shows on the Gaming and Multimedia modes (as they said it would) but it's much worse than what I see on my older model. You can actually see some of the colors shifting in bands as they try and display the gradient colors. I guess I now understand why some people were really screaming about the issue. Now I've just got to adjust coloring, since the presets were different between the 2 LCDs.

Oh and just curious, but does anyone know what that Faroudja video processing thing was supposed to do in the first place? The definition listed doesn't explain much and I'm wondering whether I'll really be missing anything.

doesnt it just improve the processing is of the lines?...

the issue with the 2007 is not the chip its actually the panel... -_- ... and i find it dumb to turn off a feature that u are paying for...
