From WSGFWiki
Overview
Call of Duty is a military-themed first person shooter series developed by Infinity Ward, originally based on WWII. It is currently published by Activision.
There are actually two series by this name, both published by Activision, but with different developers. Infinity Ward Developed the original Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2. However, the console-only Call of Duty 3, developed by Treyarch, is a sequel to their own game - also called Call of Duty 2, but unrelated to Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 2. Treyarch's next game, Call of Duty: World at War, is the only non-IW COD game to receive a PC port.
