Thief: Deadly Shadows see's Garret return to his thieving ways, although the game wasn't developed by the makers of the original Thief, Ion Storm did an admirable job.

Method

The old method has been replaced with a much more elegant hack than can be used by anyone, experts and newbies alike.

1. If you only just installed the game, run it and then quit immediately, then install the 1.1 Patch
2. Locate the user.ini file and open in notepad.
   
   • Windows 2k/XP - C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\My Documents\Thief - Deadly Shadows\SaveGames\User Options\options.ini
     
   • Windows Vista/7 - C:\Users\Public\Documents\Thief - Deadly Shadows\SaveGames\User Options\options.ini.
     
3. Find the line that says ' Resolution= ' and change the option to ' -3 '
4. Download and run T3 FOV Patch
5. Under "New aspect ratio", pick the right aspect ratio for your monitor. This will normally be 16:10 (1920x1200, 1680x1050). If you're not sure what aspect ratio your monitor is, you can type in its resolution instead (e.g. 1920x1080). If you want to undo the changes and get back to the original settings, pick 4:3.
6. Now click "Change FOV", and your game will be patched.
7. Launch Thief 3, start a new game, and enjoy!

Surround Gaming support

The above hack results in broken gameplay: using the bow causes the game to freeze.
