Definition

A game whose widescreen method is "Native" is a game where enabling widescreen can be done entirely from the ingame options menus. A game can only be considered "Native" if there is no way to improve the widescreen support externally. For example, if a game supports widescreen resolutions natively, but is vert - this way, and it is possible to make it hor + via editing the .ini file, it can not be considered a native game.

Examples

Half-Life 2 has perfect widescreen support, all enabled via the ingame options menus.
