A genre takes it's cues from horror movies that places a single protagonist at odds with supernatural, and often unknown, enemies. This particular genre attempts to use atmosphere and scripted events to scare the player. The goal of the game is often to escape a home or building, and uncover the plot or secrets that created the unknown enemies.
