The WSGF utilizes a Rubrick grading system to score widescreen implementation, and assigns grades accordingly. Below is a short description of each grading criteria. To see all the grades in a particular classification, please click on the grade name.

Grade A: Certified

These are games which have recieved perfect scores and are "widescreen certified." Their widescreen support is flawless by WSGF standards.

Grade B

These are games that have recieved a calculated grade in the B range. All of these games are without major flaws, but either have at least one minor flaw that prevents a perfect score, or have not been sufficiently tested to recieve a perfect score. Minor flaws include but are not limited to HUD stretch, incomplete support of resolutions across the mainstream spectrum (currently 1280x720 to 1920x1200), and .ini solutions.

Grade C

These are games that have recieved a calculated grade in the C range. All of these games are without severe flaws, but either have at least one major flaw that prevents a perfect score, or have not been sufficiently tested to recieve a better grade. Major flaws include but are not limited to vert -, limited aspect ratio support, and unusual or tricky widescreen solutions such as registry editting.

Grade D

These are games that have recieved a calculated grade in the D range. These games have at least one severe flaw in their widescreen implementation. The two most common flaws that could put a game in this category are stretched display, and widescreen solutions that are either potentially complex or require third party hacks.

Grade F

These are games that have recieved a calculated grade in the F range. Enabling widescreen in these games introduces a critical flaw or bug in the game, usually one that profoundly hinders gameplay.
