Definition

A game whose widescreen method is "Hack" is a game where enabling widescreen requires manipulation of hex code or memory, either directly, or through a game-specific third-party tool, such as those released by Toca Edit (Racer_S) or the UniWS from the WSGF.

Examples

Grand Theft Auto 3 and its spinoffs are vert - when widescreen is enabled, and there is no ingame method for making it hor +. Toca Edit has created some tools that let you increase the FOV, making it hor+.
