Ship Simulator 2006 is a motorboat sim from VSTEP and Lighthouse Interactive. It is the first release of Ship Simulator, and features eight motorboats ranging from water taxis to the Titanic, various weather conditions, and a number of harbors modeled after real-life ones. Gameplay consists of a series of missions in which objectives need to be completed within a certain amount of time.

Widescreen Support

Method

You may need the v1.03 patch or better in order to use widescreen resolutions. Get the latest patch here.

Once that's installed, just select your resolution from the ingame options screen. A few times that I tried to do this, it set my resolution to 640x400. If this happens, just click the "set" button again, and it should switch to whatever you have selected.
